Resort Opens for Guests

Brown Mountain Beach Resort6785 Brown Mountain Beach Rd, Lenoir, NC, 28645 We have the entire resort booked for the weekend. The resort opens up for all on Thursday at 3pm. For guests staying onsite (wedding party and family) and wanting to arrive Thursday, check-in begins at 3pm. For guests staying off site, you are more than welcome to spend the day here whenever you arrive. There are several water activities to do. This place is for relaxation and to spend time in nature. Venture around, and make yourselves at home. Check out our Things To Do tab on this website for things to do off/on site. There will be no wedding specific activities on Thursday.

Resort Open for Guests

Feel free to stop by and hang out for the day! The resort venue is open for all wedding guests for the day. Check out everything the resort has to offer under the "Things to Do" tab of this site. For guests staying on-site and arriving Friday, check-in begins at 3pm. (you can arrive earlier and drop off luggage, if needed) The trolley will be doing float trips from 11am-2pm. Cost is free for all guests.

There will be a bonfire and smore's down at the beach all night. The last trolley leaves at 11:30pm. Brown Mountain Beach Adventure Resort is full of wonder, fresh air, relaxation and good for your soul walks.&nbsp;Enjoy the coffee shop, hand made fired pizzas delivered to your yurt or cabin, walk the farm and hang out with the alpacas, enjoy tubing the river, or using a stand up paddle board and explore the gorge, or just take a nap in the hammock or read a book on the beach.&nbsp;With a mile stretch of private waters, there are many options for the adventure seeker to the wanderer and nap extraordinaire alike! This is the main hotel we recommend for guests staying off-site. It is about 25 minutes away from Brown Mountain Beach Resort. We have a hotel block under King/Hartnedy. The link provided below will take you straight to the booking page, or you can call 828-608-0900 and reference the King/Hartnedy Wedding. The block is only for Friday/Saturday nights. If you would like to arrive Thursday, you will need to book the room outside of the block.

While on the grounds, we would love for you to partake in adventure and enjoy our 25′ swimming hole and mile stretch of private waters on our river tubes, kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards.All Paddlesport and Tubes are included with your stay! Tube trips excluded *Please note, we do have life jackets for any who need it. Tube Trips (Parties of 10 or more guests only)River Tubing is a well known past time here on the creek! While tubing on our mile stretch of private waters is included during your stay, tubing the gorge with your group can elevate your stay and bring even more adventure. Our trolley will take you up Wilson Creek Gorge so you can experience a class III rapid and tube down to the resort. It is a 30 minute tube trip full of twists, turns and a bit of relaxation. Paddle SportsSurrounded deep in the beauty of the foothills of the Pisgah National Forest, spending time in our 35 ft swimming hole and mile stretch of private waters is one of our favorite ways to spend a spring or summer day. Explore wildlife, and enjoy the cool mountain stream from a canoe, kayak, or standup paddle board as you point out the beauty of the local plant and animal life and the views of the mountains. Whether it be sitting at the water’s level in a kayak or standing on a stable board above it, these watersport experiences are a great family and group experience and a true guest favorite. CanoeingYou have seen the iconic photos of couples in one of our canoes headed up the gorge and the swimming hole. Now it is your turn to take one out and enjoy the water at eye level. KayakingEnjoy a great adventure in the pristine waters paddling a kayak. Kayaking is a more individual experience that also allows you to cover a bit more water as you tour and learn. Paddle BoardingA traditional form of surfing, originating from the Hawaiian Islands, paddle boarding is a sport that has grown far beyond the pacific shores. Take in the beauty of Wilson Creek while standing on these paddle boards. Never done it before. No worries, we have life jackets to keep you safe in the swimming hole while practicing to that you can enjoy a refreshing day on the water with no worry.

Have questions about where to eat out during your stay but don’t feel like a sandwich or pizza, the girls in the cafe will have plenty of recommendations off the grounds as well!

Offsite Activies

Visit Downtown Morganton, NC! The hotel block is right in downtown Morganton, NC and sits across the street from a cute brewery called Fonta Flora Brewery that is delicious. HIKINGThere is 38,000 miles of forest to explore! Numerous hiking trails lead to waterfalls and breathtaking mountain views. Wilson Creek Visitors Center has a 3D map of all trails in the national forest. Please visit them to get to know the Appalachia culture and hike/bike the trails! They are located just 4 miles up the gorge (follow the creek upward). You will be about 1 hour away from Grandfather Mountain, which has a mile high swinging bridge.
